The writer's contribution recounts the life of Henry Stuart, Cardinal York, and tells of a British officer's meeting the Cardinal in Basilicata during the Napoleonic campaigns in Southern Italy. The officer had given the contributor an account of the meeting. Payment for the contribution made by post-office order.

      In the Office Book, "The Hero of a Hundred Plays" is recorded as by "Day & Morley"; the "Day" is marked out and substituted by "Bourne."
